The Crystal Palladium was built in 1921. It operated for many years as a dance hall featuring all of the big name acts of the day like Guy Lombardo, Cab Calloway Louis Armstrong, Gene Krupa and many more. In later years, rock acts also played the Palladium. The site also had a vintage carousel which survives to this day as a collector's item. Eventually the Palladium building was converted to a furniture store which it was operating as when it burned down in 1974. The former lot of the dance hall sits mostly empty today with a memorial of some sort on the site.
