Just three years after The Cinema III caught his eye while motorcycle riding, Shelby Township businessman Remo Querciagrossa, has closed the doors on Imlay City’s only theater. Querciagrossa bought the building behind the Silver Grill Restaurant on North Cedar Street in 2008 and reopened it as the Imlay City Cinemas after replacing the roof, repainting the interior and upgrading the projection equipment. The theater, which first opened in 1980, had been closed since 2007. The conversion to digital was too expensive to justify given the volume.

Cinema II was open in 1980, this was a very exciting addition to Imlay City as the Deluxe had Closed in 1959. I am pretty sure most of the town went opening weekend. The first Movie I saw there was Any Which Way You Can with Clint Eastwood.
