Movie Theaters >> Thumb Theatre

Address: 3466 Ruth St.
City: Deckerville State: MI Zip: Phone:
County: Sanilac
Notes:

This theatre seems to have started up in the 1930's. I will assume for now it was known as the Regent prior to that as I see no evidence they were separate buildings.

the building has been bought by several local businessmen and at least one of the offices in it is currently rented.

The true name for the movie house / theater in Deckerville, Michigan was the "Thumb". Notice in your old post card photo that the billboard includes a large T (for Thumb.) Though the building still stands, this small theater has been closed as a theater for decades. It was most recently used as part of a hardware store.
3/7/2005 - Mike Reisner
The theatre was turned into a hardware/gift store after it closed. It was called Dicks Hardware. It still had the sloped floor in the theatre part. It was remodeled into office space in the early 2000s. and as of Jan. 2005 is closed and in forclosure.
