The Bavarian Inn sat directly across the street from the Baw Beese Inn alongside the Hillsdale Country Club. It goes back prior to 1958. It was demolished in 2013 after a catastrophic fire and the lot is now empty as of 2023. The last review on Yelp was from 2011 and it was a good one.
From Munro House web site:
The Bavarian Inn Motel in Hillsdale Michigan burned down on Saturday June 9, 2012. A fire started in the main facility and affected all three buildings. It was a total loss. 22 fire departments answered the call with about 200 firefighters fighting the blaze for several hours. Hotel staff and guests escaped uninjured. 18 guest rooms are no longer available for upcoming special events including the NASCAR races the weekend of June 16 and August 18 along with Hillsdale College special events on August 25 plus October 19 and 26. Folks with reservations on those dates should make other plans.
I found some old ads and I believe this motel was also known as the Kennedy given the description of the location in the ad. Given that the Baw Beese Inn was (and is) directly across the street, it's possible THAT was the Kennedy.
