The 27 unit Marymax Motel goes back to 1955 at least. It operated for many years until closing. It was eventually demolished by 2005 and replaced by the Northside Pines Apartments. Mary and Max Woiton, the owners, can be seen in the photo below. It was for sale as early as 1959. It was also AAA Recommended, which I always thought was a sign of quality when I was a kid. I used to love the old silver AAA stickers on our cars and Triptik maps.
