My father was the projectionist at the Crystal in the mid 1940''s.I still have a booking sheet for June 1946 that shows the presentations for that month.They were playing a movie I am sure we all remember and that was To Have and have Not with Bogart.
At that time the owners were Broder theaters.

My mother told me that back in the late 40''s she would take me to the Crystal once a week because they gave out a piece of dinnerware with a Elizabethian design. My mother was able to collect a complete service for 8. Back then admission was 5 cents and I was admitted free. The theatre was on Michigan avenue near Junction I believe.

This old pre-war house was one of many that once dotted Michigan Avenue, it is now long gone.
