General Information:

The Flynn/Sawyer Theatre has been in front of my face the entire time. The 2017 street view photo below indicates the name is ensconced right on the front of the building. The structure is quite beautiful and was used for various purposes over the years as the articles below explain. The latest seems to have been a clothing store that has closed. Hopefully something new moves in to maintain the legacy of this building. The theater was built and opened in 1928 by Joe Flynn. Over the years, the management changed several times. In the late 1930's, the name change to the Sawyer seemed to have occurred as Mr. Flynn was no longer in direct control.

Beginning in the late 1940's or early 1950's, the building began to be used for a string of different enterprises including stores, an auction house and even a gathering place from time to time. The building survives until this day and looks to be in good shape.
