General Information:

The 240-seat Roxy Theater was operating prior to 1941, and continued at least until 1943. After being sold in1950, it was known as the New Roxy Theater, with 325-seats. It was destroyed by arson in 1960 and never reopened. See articles below for details.

April 1960 Issue - The 220 seat Roxy Theatre in Howard City, Michigan, the only house in town, was destroyed by fire which was discovered at 1:40 a.m. The roof collapsed about a half hour later, and only the walls were left standing. No one was injured in the fire. There are no present plans to rebuild, according to Clive Waxman of Independent Exhibitors Theatre Service, who was the buyer for the Roxy.
